Easy Navigation

• Customise the Main Menu to display as a single grid to make finding your way around the TV Box even easier
• Never get lost and always find your way back to the Main Menu with just the click of a button on the remote control
• Change the magnification levels, colour schemes, speech, voice speed and voice volume, beeps and other sounds, screen brightness, menu items, ringer and other volumes, menu operation, auto start, and lots more, to make navigation even easier for you.
• Use the arrow at the bottom of the screen to move to the next page of menu options, if there are more options than can fit on a single screen.

SPEECH AND MAGNIFICATION AS STANDARD

• All products have in-built natural-sounding speech on every screen. Choose from the latest high quality male and female voices.
• Change zoom levels to make the text you are reading or typing get bigger or smaller on every screen. Increase or decrease the zoom level to change the number of options on the screen.

Voice Control & Voice Recognition

• Control the TV Box with just your voice. Select menus, browse the internet, compose emails and lots more! All with just voice commands!
• Type messages faster by dictating them! Voice Recognition is amazingly accurate and words are automatically spell-checked.
• Dictate emails or any other text. Whenever the keyboard is displayed on-screen, the microphone icon in the top right corner enables Voice Recognition to be switched on and off; so you can dictate instead of typing.

Search TV and Radio Listings

• Search mainstream TV and radio listings with ease, so you know what programmes are coming up within the next 7 days
• Simply use your remote control or keyboard to find out what's on now, search for a particular programme, browse different channels to see what's coming up or save your favourite channel to view later
• Select the option to have details about programmes read out to you, such as a summary of the programme, the time it's on, the date it's on and the duration of the programme. Or simply select to start watching the programme you're interested in, if it's currently airing.

Watch freeview digital tv

• There are many Freeview Digital TV Channels you can watch through your Synapptic TV Box*. Some of these include the BBC 1, BBC 2, ITV, More 4, 5 Star, Cbeebies, CBBC, Quest, BBC News, Travel Channel, Music Channels and much more!
• Search easily through channel lists using our easy-to-use remote control. Listings are magnified to the size of your TV screen and options are read out to you using the in-built speech.

* Some Freeview channels are only made available through the broadcaster's own app or website (so they can advertise at you)! These can be accessed through the app launcher option on the TV-Box.

Watch the latest movie releases and box-sets with Netflix

• Use Netflix to watch thousands of blockbuster movies, original films and dramas, TV series and documentaries
• Search through thousands of titles with the Synapptic TV Box highlighting and reading out everything as you go
• If you haven't got an account already, you'll need to subscribe to the Netflix service. Prices start at just £5.99 per month and can be cancelled at anytime.

• There are thousands of Internet radio stations broadcast through the Internet. We've picked 300 of the best UK stations (including all national and local BBC stations), along with international radio stations for you to choose from.

• Watch BBC TV or listen to BBC Radio programmes that have been broadcast over the last 7 days. It's easy to catch-up with a programme you have missed. Synapptic provides simple menus to select the channel, day and programme.

Catch-up with Mainstream TV Apps

• Catch up with programmes you have missed through mainstream TV apps like ITV Hub, All 4 and UK-TV Player
• Finding programmes within these apps is made easy, so you can search for shows by programme name or even by genre, like documentaries and dramas.

Play and stream music and MP3 recordings

• Playing a music MP3 couldn't be easier. Large buttons on the screen make it easy to play and pause, rewind or skip forwards, move to the next or previous track or read out the name and duration of the current track.
• As with all Synapptic screens, the Synapptic MP3 player is intuitive to use, high contrast, large print and speaks everything out.
• Alternatively, why not stream music instantly through YouTube or services like Spotify, where there is a choice of thousands of tracks that can be organised and played from your own personal playlists. The Synapptic remote control helps you easily navigate around these apps, speaking out and highlighting the tracks on your TV screen.

Listen to Talking Books and Talking Newspapers

• Instantly stream or download digital audio books through the Amazon's Audible Talking Books app, which gives you access to over 100,000 up-to-date titles to choose from!
• Borrow and download digital audio books through RNIB's OverDrive app, which gives you access to over 20,000 fiction and non-fiction titles.
• Whether it's the Amazon Audible app or RNIB's OverDrive app the Synapptic TV Box remote helps you effortlessly navigate about the screen, clearly highlighting and reading out items as you navigate about.
• Play Talking Books from RNIB and Calibre Audio, who offer thousands of up-to-date audio books. Books are sent on small thumb-sized memory sticks that plug into the Synapptic TV Box. Books can be requested through their websites or by telephone. Large buttons on the screen make it easy to play and pause, rewind or skip forwards, move to the next or previous track or read out the name and duration of the current track.

• YouTube is an amazing resource for watching films and film clips, listening to music, discovering and learning new skills or just watching the latest funny animal videos! The best thing of all - it's all free and can be easily accessed through your Synapptic TV Box!

Catch-up with news and other stories quickly and easily

• The RSS News Reader makes it easy to catch up with the latest news from a variety of sources on the Internet. RSS feeds bring the news headlines directly to you, avoiding the need to search the web or search around an individual web page. Follow an area of interest and related news and articles will be sent directly to your device. News and other articles are displayed in plain text, but images and links can be viewed as well, if you select this view.

Shopping

• The TV Box comes with a handy shopping section that provides quick access to some of the most popular shopping websites
• Easily shop with Amazon, eBay and all the main supermarkets like Asda, Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Marks and Spencer, etc.
• There's no limit to the number of shops you can use. Just search the web and shop to your heart's content!

Web Browser

• Manage everyday tasks like online shopping and banking, with easy access to the internet
• Surf the web easily with the Web Browser, using our unique Tab & Jump® feature. This allows you to move through a page easily, either between blocks of text, headings or links to other pages. Navigate around the page using up and down arrow keys on the remote control. As you move about the text on the page a description for it is spoken out.
• The Web Browser Menu has options for searching the web, typing a web address, going to a homepage, keeping a list of favourite web sites and allowing easy navigation back to recently visited sites.
  

Using Social Media

• Keep in touch with family and friends, through popular social media apps like Facebook and Twitter
• Connect and message new people who share similar interests to you or follow news or current issues that are trending across these platforms.

Voice and Video Calls

• Make and receive free Skype voice and video calls
• Skype turns your TV into a video phone. It works through the Internet and there are no additional charges - talk for as long as you want.
• Use a video call to see friends and family, or let them see you
• Retrieve saved contact information from your Address Book, by using the up and down arrow keys of the remote control. Select a particular contact to have their number dialled through Skype.

Send and receive emails

• Use your TV Box to send and receive emails
• Compose new messages, read messages, reply to messages, forward messages and delete messages
• Write new emails easily with magnification and spoken feedback, using the keyboard to read out each letter before you type it. If you've never used a keyboard before, you can dictate your message instead
• Any emails you receive are displayed on screen in large print and also spoken out, making reading them easy
• Use your TV Box to effortlessly send and receive photos, notes, voice recordings and other attachments.

View photos

• View and magnify photos on your TV screen. Move between photos using the arrow keys on the remote control. The date and time for each photo is spoken out, along with any description that has been typed in or dictated for the selected photo.
• Sending a photo by email is as simple as pressing a button!
• Photos received by email are automatically saved to the gallery
• Photos can be quickly imported into the TV Box via a USB memory stick.

Install and use Apps

• Open up your online world with access to millions of apps from the Google Play Store
• Install apps for hobbies, recipes, music, travel, utilities, lifestyle and games
• Subscribe to our newsletter for regular updates on great apps that are both accessible and easy to use.

One Address Book for all contacts

• Store all your telephone numbers, email addresses, Skype addresses and postal addresses in the Address Book: one place for all your contacts.
• The address book synchronises between all your Synapptic devices, so no need to re-type addresses and numbers on different devices. When using the TV Box, or when out and about with your phone, you'll always have access to the latest list of contacts.
• The Address Book can be searched and all Address Book details are both spoken aloud and displayed in large print on the screen.

Calendar, Reminders and Alarm

• Never forget or miss an appointment! Set calendar reminders, or use the alarm clock to remind of an event or maybe a favourite TV Show that's about to start!

Organise MP3s and streamed music

• Organise your MP3s into folders and streamed music into playlists. It's then easy to find and play the music you want.

SD Cards and Memory Sticks

• Play music, books and newspapers stored on your TV Box, or play them from a memory stick plugged into the TV Box.

Note Pad

• Write notes, lists and other information. Either type the text or dictate with Voice Recognition.
• Notes can be saved and recalled later, or even emailed!

Record and play voice memos

• Recording a spoken voice memo is a quick and simple way of noting down some important information, without having to write it down. Recordings are listed with the latest one at the top, and have the recording date and time automatically included within them.
• Each recording can be played back, emailed or deleted.

Calculator

• Add, subtract, multiply and divide easily with the Synapptic large print, high contrast and talking calculator.

Clock

• A super-sized clock that clearly displays and speaks out the date and time on-screen.

TV Box information

• This option gives a quick overview of useful information about the TV Box, and includes Wi-fi signal strength, date/time and software version numbers.

Easy to access help

• Help is available throughout Synapptic. Just about every screen has a Help icon in the top right hand corner, which displays help documents and videos for that particular screen.
• Alternatively, just press the Help button on the Synapptic TV Box remote to quickly display a help page for the current activity.
• In addition to the Help on every screen, the Help option on the Main Menu allows all the Help documents and videos to be searched for by using particular keywords or phrases.
• Our unique in-built Lifeline® support feature means you're only ever 2 button presses away from accessing our Remote Support service. Whatever screen you're on, it's easy to ask us to remotely view your TV Box and provide technical support wherever you are.
